President Joe Biden's Education Department released the latest data on the progress under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF). The program's true purpose is to forgive students' debts to public servants like government and non-profit workers.
Due to this program, a total of $8.1 billion has been authorized by the Education Department for student loan debt cancellation for around 1450,000 borrowers in nine months.
The public service loan forgiveness program is a promise made in 2008 by the government to offer debt relief to nurses, teachers, fire fighters and others who have entered public service jobs.
