The University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University in Kraków have improved their rankings in the latest QS World University Rankings. The two prestigious Polish universities, which were shy of a few ranks to entering the top 300 in the previous ranking, achieved this goal in the current one. From 308th place last year, the University of Warsaw went up to 284th place. Meanwhile, the Jagiellonian University in Kraków secured 293rd place from its previous 309th position.

The latest results, published on 9th June 2022, include thirteen other Polish universities that rank within the top 500 – 1000 institutes worldwide. Some universities included in this list are:
The QS World University Rankings differ significantly from the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), where only 10 Polish institutes were included in the top 1000. Meanwhile, the Times Higher Education ranking included only two Polish universities in the top 1000 – the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
