UAE has performed exceptionally well by bagging 9 medals at the 2022 International Olympiads in Physics and Chemistry. The 9 medals include two gold and three bronze medals that the Emirati student team won at the 52nd Physics Olympiad and the four bronze medals that the chemistry won at the International Chemistry Olympiad.
Both Olympiads were held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Physics Olympiad took place virtually in Switzerland, while China hosted the Chemistry Olympiad. UAE’s performance in the International Olympiads highlights the improvement in the educational system.

According to the Minister of Education, Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, the UAE has implemented strategic steps to become an exceptional leader in propagating an innovative community. These strategies owe much to modern educational tactics that emulate national trends.
Al Falasi has also highlighted the country’s role in preparing students for the International Olympiads. The ministry has provided students with several opportunities to nurture their scientific growth and promote healthy competitiveness.

In addition to these students, Adi Sinha of Delhi Private School received an honorary plaque for participating in the International Mathematics Olympiad.
A total of 19 students from the UAE participated in the International Olympiads – four in Biology, four in Chemistry, five in Physics and six in Mathematics.
