How to Select IELTS Exam Dates and Locations?

  1. Log into the official IDP Education website to easily book the IDP dates. Click on 'Book Now' from the drop-down menu of 'Register for IELTS'. 
  2. Choose the test – computer-delivered IELTS/paper-based IELTS (IELTS/IELTS for UKVI or IELTS Life Skills).
  3. Select the test type/module – IELTS General Training or Academic, IELTS for UKVI, AI & B1 (Life Skills).
  4. Select the location of the test or the city (from the extensive list of IELTS test centres in India or your country).
  5. Provide necessary details like the Date of Birth, ID Type, ID Number, and the like, along with a clear scanned copy of the passport.
  6. Proceed to pay the IELTS test fee through a Debit/Credit card (MasterCard/UPI/Visa), Netbanking, or Paytm. You will receive a confirmation mail on your registered email ID.
  7. You can even do this in person by walking into the office of the IDP Education India Pvt Ltd with a valid photograph (in case it is required).
  8. Then, complete the fee payment through the demand draft of any bank’s deposit slip.
  9. Once you have completed the payment process, your application will be submitted successfully.

For the speaking test, it is wise to schedule a slot online on your preferred date and time. If you fail to select a slot within the scheduled period, the time slot will be automatically allocated to you.

IELTS Test Centre Instructions

Considerable work and adequate preparation are required to ace the IELTS with flying colors. The first step to doing this successfully is to become well-versed with the rules and regulations of your IELTS test centres. 
The IELTS test centres around the world have a uniform set of rules and regulations that you should always consider before appearing for the test.

Have a look at some of them enlisted below – 

  1. You need to bring the ID that you used while registering for the IELTS exam. The staff present at the centre will verify your identification documents before allowing you to appear for the test.
  2. You can bring pens, pencils, and erasers for the paper-based IELTS exam. But, the IELTS test centre will also provide you with pencils and paper if you do not choose a computer-based test. Hence, it is not necessary to carry stationery to the test centre.
  3. You need to switch off the mobile phone and keep it along with other personal belongings in the special storage area of the test centre.
  4. You are suggested not to carry any precious items to the IELTS test centre on the day of the exam.
  5. It is not necessary to carry your passport-sized photo on the exam day as the staff of the test centre will take your photo individually as a critical part of the registration process.
  6. Inform the supervisor of the centre about any issue you face while working on the computer or while encountering any other discrepancy.
  7. Do not bring any kinds of eatables or drinks inside the centre.
  8. Carry a valid identification proof of your nationality.
